Exterior Features
The 2012 Kia Sorento is a midsize crossover utility vehicle,with a traditional 4-door design and a rear liftgate. Seventeen-inch alloy wheels are standard.

Interior Features
The 2012 Kia Sorento,offered in four different trim levels,seats up to 7 passengers when equipped with the optional third-row seating. Base Sorento models feature air conditioning,full power accessories,cruise control,Bluetooth phone connectivity,iPod adapter,and AUX input jack. Higher trim levels feature leather upholstery,body-colored exterior mirrors,heated front seats,rearview camera,keyless entry/ignition,and other premium features.

Optional Features
Major option packages on the 2012 Kia Sorento include a satellite-based navigation system,premium Infinity audio system,and a panoramic moonroof.

Under the Hood
Kia Sorento models are fitted with one of two different engines. The standard power plant is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder rated at 175 horsepower. While higher trim levels are fitted with the same 2.4-liter 4-cylinder,the engine is equipped with direct injection and rated at 191 horsepower. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard on lower trim levels,with a 6-speed automatic optional,which is standard on higher trims levels. Front-wheel drive is standard,with all-wheel drive optional.

EPA fuel-economy figures for the 2012 Kia Sorento are:
