The Nissan Sentra is a midsize sedan,first offered for sale in the North American market for the 1982 model year. The current vehicle,now in its sixth-generation,was last completely redesigned for the 2007 model year. Refreshed for 2010,the 2011 model receives several changes and upgrades. There has been a slight improvement in the EPA estimated city fuel economy,there is new standard safety equipment,and some of the option packages have been fine tuned.

The Sentra is offered in six different trim levels. The standard Sentra 2.0 features appointments such as cloth upholstery,air conditioning,power accessories,and 15-inch steel wheels. The Sentra 2.0S builds on that with power outside mirrors,remote keyless entry,iPod interface,16-inch steel wheels,and more. The sport-tuned 2.0 SR is differentiated by its unique bodywork,and 16-inch alloy wheels. The luxury-oriented 2.0SL includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel,Bluetooth phone connectivity,and an upgraded audio package. The SE-R adds sport seat cloth upgrades,sport-tuned suspension,four-wheel disc brakes,and 17-inch alloy wheels. The SE-R Spec V is tuned specifically for enthusiasts,with appropriate hardware.

The standard engine ? found on all 2.0 models ? is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that is rated at 140 horsepower. To deliver more power,the sport-tuned SE-R is fitted with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 177 horsepower,while the range-topping SE-R Spec V boasts a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 200 horsepower. A six-speed manual is only offered on the base Sentra 2.0 and the SE-R Spec V. The other models receive a continuously-variable transmission. All models are front-wheel drive. The EPA rates the fuel economy of the 2011 Nissan Sentra between 21 mpg city,and 34 mpg highway,depending on engine and driveline.

The 2011 Nissan Sentra 2.0 starts with a base price of about $16,000 and tops out with the Sentra SE-R Spec V model,which starts around $21,000.
