The Nissan Murano is a mid-size,five-passenger crossover that was first introduced in 2002. This four-door shares a platform with the Nissan Maxima,Nissan Altima,and Nissan Quest minivan. Today's Murano is in its second-generation and was last completely redesigned for the 2007 model year. For 2011,Nissan has made several changes to the Murano. These include a new SV trim level,simplified option and trim level packages,and a new drop-top CrossCabriolet convertible
The Murano is offered in five trim levels: S,SV,SL,LE,and CrossCabriolet. Base models are configured with cloth upholstery,air conditioning with dual-zone climate control,keyless entry,cruise control,six-speaker audio package,18-inch alloy wheels,and more. The SV is upgraded with a panoramic moonroof,automatic headlights,leather-wrapped steering wheel,Bluetooth phone connectivity,and other premium features. The SL model features leather upholstery,heated front seats,power rear liftgate,driver seat memory,nine-speaker Bose audio system,and more. The LE is the flagship closed-roof model. As such,it comes with bi-xenon headlamps,heated rear seats,wood trim,20-inch alloy wheels,and more as standard equipment. The new CrossCabriolet convertible is configured much like the range-topping LE,but features a power-operated folding soft top. Major options on all trim levels include a navigation system and a headrest-mounted,DVD-based entertainment system
The Murano is offered with one engine?a 3.5-liter,six-cylinder engine rated at 260 horsepower. The engine is mated to a continuously-variable automatic transmission (CVT). Front-wheel drive is standard,with an all-wheel drive system designed for on-road use during inclement weather offered as an option. The EPA rates the fuel economy of the 2011 Nissan Murano between 18 mpg city and 23 mpg highway,regardless of whether the model is front- or all-wheel drive
