The Nissan Maxima is a four-door sedan that was first introduced in 1976. Today's Maxima is in its seventh-generation,last completely redesigned for the 2009 model year. For 2011,Nissan has only made minor changes to its largest sedan. These include new exhaust tips,new smoked headlights,and a new dark grille on sport models. There are also two new exterior colors.

The Maxima is offered in four different trim levels: S,SV,SV with Sport Package,and SV with Premium Package. As Nissan?s premier sedan,even the standard model is fairly well equipped. Standard features include cloth upholstery,air conditioning with dual-zone climate control,full power accessories,keyless entry and ignition,auto-dimming rearview mirror,Bluetooth phone connectivity,and more. The SV model gains leather upholstery,lumbar support,a Bose audio upgrade,and other cosmetic enhancements. Sport and Premium packages more finely tailor the Maxima to owner's tastes,depending upon whether they prefer performance or technology. Sport models are fitted with 19-inch alloy wheels and sport suspension,for starters,while Premium models feature equipment such as rearview cameras,iPod interface,7-inch LCD screen,and more.

The Nissan Maxima is offered with one engine and one transmission. The standard powerplant is 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine that is rated at 290 horsepower. A continuously-variable transmission (CVT) is standard,sending power to the front wheels. The EPA rates the fuel economy of the 2011 Nissan Maxima between 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.

The 2011 Nissan Maxima S starts with a base price of about $32,000 and tops out with the Maxima SV with Premium Package,which starts around $38,000.
