The Mitsubishi Endeavor is a midsize SUV with a car-based chassis and several features that qualify it for rough work. It has not changed much from its introduction in 2004,but for the 2011 model year the Endeavor adds a navigation system,power sunroof,and rearview camera as standard on the SE trim. The Ford Edge,Chevrolet Traverse,Hyundai Veracruz,and Nissan Murano are among its direct competitors.
The 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor is available in two trim levels,both of which offer an optional towing package. The base Endeavor LS trim features front-wheel drive (FWD),17-inch alloy wheels,cloth upholstery,keyless entry,air conditioning,cruise control,6-speaker sound system,and Bluetooth connectivity. The Endeavor SE trim is available in front- or all-wheel drive (FWD or AWD),and features 18-inch alloy wheels,leather upholstery,automatic climate control,heated front seats,more power controls,9-speaker sound system,trip computer,and flip-up rear window,plus navigation system and sunroof. Side steps and remote ignition are optional on both trims. Cargo space behind the rear seats amounts to 40 cubic feet; maximum cargo capacity is 76 cubic feet,and when properly equipped,the Endeavor can tow 3500 pounds,according to Mitsubishi.
The standard power plant in the 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor is a 225-horsepower,3.8-liter V-6 engine,with a 4-speed automatic transmission. It produces 255 lb.-ft. of torque. With FWD,the Endeavor delivers 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway,according to the EPA.
Standard safety equipment on the 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor includes anti-lock disc brakes,traction control,stability control,front side air bags,side curtain air bags,anti-theft engine immobilizer,and intruder-deterrent alarm.
