The Jeep Wrangler is a compact off-road vehicle,with roots tracing back to the Second World War. The Jeep was reintroduced as the Wrangler in the mid-1980s. The current model was last redesigned for the 2007 model year. New for 2011,Jeep has fitted this model with a new interior,including improved sound insulation and more options. Hill start assist,trailer stability control,and vehicle stability control are now standard; the hardtop on the Sahara model now matches the body color.

The Wrangler is offered in no fewer than nine different trim levels,with two-door and four-door (""Unlimited"") body styles ? all share the same V6 engine and four-wheel drive powertrain. The Sport models are the standard trim levels and Base models are called Sport. They arrive with a folding soft top,six-speaker audio system,cloth seats,and 16-inch steel wheels (the Unlimited Sport is fitted with air conditioning).

Rubicon models add a lot of off-road equipment,including unique suspension,special tires,locking differentials,and 17-inch alloy wheels. All Sahara models feature full metal doors,tinted rear windows,keyless entry,full power accessories,heated mirrors,unique trim,six-speaker audio system,and 18-inch alloy wheels. The 70th Anniversary models include unique paint and badging.

All Jeep Wrangler models are powered by a 3.8-liter,six-cylinder,rated at 202 horsepower. The standard transmission is a six-speed manual,with a four-speed automatic optional. Four-wheel drive is standard,but the Unlimited may be ordered in rear-wheel drive. The EPA rates the fuel economy of the 2011 Jeep Wrangler between 15 mpg city,and 19 mpg highway,depending on driveline.

The 2011 Jeep Wrangler Sport starts with a base price of about $22,500 and tops out with the Unlimited Rubicon model,which starts around $33,000.
