2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

Aside from sharing a platform, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe is very different from the Genesis Sedan. The Genesis Coupe is a low-slung,sporty rear-wheel-drive car that competes with the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro?a totally different segment of the market as compared to the Genesis Sedan. Now in its second year of production, the Genesis Coupe has added some interior upgrades for 2011. A new trim level gives access to the optional larger engine,at a lower price.

The 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe offers a choice of two high-performance engines, and three trim levels for each engine. The Genesis Coupe 2.0T is the entry-level model, and it features 18-inch wheels, air conditioning, power accessories, cruise control, trip computer with Bluetooth connectivity, keyless entry, and leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob. The 2.0T R-Spec trim adds performance features such as 19-inch wheels,Brembo brakes, and a limited-slip rear differential. The 2.0T Premium trim focuses on power accessories. The new 3.8 R-Spec trim includes the 2.0 R-Spec?s features but adds a V-6 engine; the 3.8 Grand Touring combines the V-6 with the Premium trim. The top-of-the-line Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track model combines the Spec and Premium features, and adds Xenon headlights.

All Genesis Coupe 2.0 models employ a 210-horsepower,2.0-liter,inline 4-cylinder engine that delivers 21 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway with the standard 6-speed manual transmission, according to the EPA. A 5-speed automatic transmission is optional on the base model, unavailable on the Spec, and standard on the Premium. The Genesis Coupe 3.8 models feature a 306-horsepower,3.8-liter V-6 engine with manual or automatic 6-speed transmission. With automatic transmission, the 3.8 models deliver 17 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.

Standard safety features on the 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, stability control, active front head restraints, front side air bags, and side curtain air bags.

Starting MSRP for the 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe ranges from $22,250 to $30,750.
