2011 Hyundai Azera Sedan
The Hyundai Azera,introduced to the U.S. market in 2006,is a near-full-size sedan that shares a platform with the midsize Hyundai Sonata. The Azera was the automaker?s flagship model in the U.S. until the Genesis Sedan arrived here in 2008. For 2011,Hyundai introduced a new transmission,added power,improved fuel efficiency,and updated the grille,wheels,and exterior trim on the Azera.
The 2011 Hyundai Azera is available in two trim levels: GLS and Limited. The base GLS model has 17-inch alloy wheels,dual-zone automatic climate control,full power accessories,heated side mirrors,woodgrain interior accents,leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob,and a sound system that features 6 speakers,an in-dash CD changer,satellite radio,and iPod/USB connections. A sunroof,leather upholstery,and heated front seats are optional on the GLS. The Azera Limited includes those options as standard equipment,and adds a larger,more powerful engine and other luxury-oriented upgrades,including a wood-trimmed steering wheel and premium Infinity sound system. For audiophiles,an ultra-premium Infinity system is optional on the Limited model,as are a navigation system and Bluetooth connectivity.
The 2011 Hyundai Azera GLS employs a 260-horsepower,3.3-liter V-6 engine that produces 226 lb.-ft. of torque and delivers 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway,according to the EPA. The Azera Limited has a 283-horsepower,3.8-liter V-6 engine that makes 257 lb.-ft. of torque and delivers 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. Front-wheel drive and a 6-speed automatic transmission are standard on both Azera trims.
Standard safety features on the 2011 Hyundai Azera include anti-lock disc brakes,traction control,stability control,front side air bags,rear outboard side air bags,side curtain air bags,and active front head restraints. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the 2011 Azera a ?Good? rating for frontal-offset collisions and ?Acceptable? ratings for both side- and rear-impact crash protection.
