The Honda Fit is a compact hatchback originally introduced in North America for the 2001 model year ? it is also sold as the Honda Jazz in Europe and Asia. It competes directly against the Ford Fiesta and the Mazda2. Now in its second generation,last redesigned for the 2008 model year,the Fit receives standard stability control,cruise control,keyless entry,and a USB/iPod interface for 2011.

Offered in two trim levels ? Base and Sport ? standard models are configured with air conditioning,full power accessories,cruise control,tilt-and-telescope steering wheel,split-folding rear seats,four-speaker audio package,15-inch steel wheels,and more. The Sport model is upgraded with a leather-wrapped steering wheel,foglamps,rear spoiler,six-speaker audio package,sport body kit,16-inch alloy wheels,and more. While navigation is not standard,it is offered as an option from the factory ? Honda calls that model the Fit Sport with Navigation,and it is only available with the automatic transmission.

All models of the Honda Fit share the same 1.5-liter,four-cylinder engine rated at 117 horsepower. A five-speed manual transmission is standard on both models,with a five-speed automatic transmission optional ? Sport models with the automatic are fitted with steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles. All Fit models are front-wheel drive. The EPA rates the fuel economy of the 2011 Honda Fit between 27 mpg city,and 35 mpg highway,depending on transmission.

The 2011 Honda Fit starts with a base price of about $15,500 and tops out with the Fit Sport with Navigation,which starts around $20,000.
