2011 Ford Mustang Coupe

The Ford Mustang is a compact 2-door sport coupe and convertible that was first launched in 1964. At nearly 50 years, the Mustang is Ford's third oldest nameplate. The current,fifth-generation model was last completely redesigned for the 2005 model year, and it continues with the traditional front-engine,rear-wheel-drive configuration and a variety of engines. In 2010,Ford significantly updated the Mustang with an entirely new exterior. For the 2011 model year,Ford has focused on the powertrains and updated the exterior with a new fascia. In addition, they have enhanced the noise and soundproofing insulation and added a new electric steering pump.

The 2011 Ford Mustang is sold in no less than 10 variants: V6 Coupe,V6 Coupe Premium,V6 Convertible,V6 Premium Convertible,GT Coupe,GT Premium,GT Convertible,GT Premium Convertible,Shelby GT500,and Shelby GT500 Convertible. Standard equipment includes cloth upholstery, air conditioning, full power accessories, cruise control, keyless entry,limited-slip differential,17-inch alloy wheels, and more. The Mustang Premium is upgraded with equipment including leather upholstery, power driver's seat,Ford's Sync infotainment system, and the Shaker 500 audio system. Mustang GT models are fitted with the V-8 engine and rear spoiler, fog lamps, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The two range-topping Shelby variants are designed for the enthusiast. In addition to a supercharged V-8 engine, they are fitted with larger wheels, oversized brakes, sport suspension, upgraded sport-tuned seats, cosmetic enhancements, and more. All convertible models are fitted with a power-operated soft top with a heated rear glass window that opens and closes in about 20 seconds, according to Ford.

The 2011 Ford Mustang is offered with one of three different engines. The standard power plant is a 3.7-liter V-6 engine rated at 305 horsepower. Mustang GT models are fitted with a 5.0-liter 8-cylinder engine rated at 412 horsepower, while the Shelby GT500 is fitted with a supercharged,5.4-liter 8-cylinder engine rated at 540 horsepower. The standard transmission on all 2011 Ford Mustangs is a 6-speed manual, however a 6-speed automatic is optional. Rear-wheel drive is standard on all 2011 Ford Mustangs. The EPA rates the fuel economy of the 2011 Ford Mustang between 15 mpg city and 31 mpg highway, depending on engine and transmission.

The 2011 Ford Mustang V6 Coupe has a base price of about $22,500,while the Shelby GT500 Convertible starts at around $54,000.
