2011 Chevrolet Cruze Sedan

The Chevrolet Cruze is all-new to the U.S.A. for 2011,although the current incarnation of the Cruze has been sold elsewhere since 2008. The Cruze is a small sedan that replaces the Cobalt in Chevrolet?s lineup.

The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze is available in four trim levels. The base (Cruze LS) model features 16-inch steel wheels, some power accessories, air conditioning,OnStar emergency communications, manual adjustable driver?s seat, and a 6-speaker sound system. The Cruze Eco has roughly the same list of features, but a few tweaks have been made to lighten it and thus make it more fuel-efficient,including a unique front fascia air dam, lower front grille air shutter, and rear spoiler. The Cruze LT trim comes in two levels. The 1LT adds a turbocharged engine,16-inch alloy wheels, and a few more power features; the 2LT adds 17-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, heated front seats, power driver?s seat, keyless ignition, cruise control, and Bluetooth connectivity. The Cruze LTZ trim features 18-inch wheels,6-speed automatic transmission, automatic climate control, sport suspension, and other enhancements. Options include a hard-drive-based navigation system, sunroof, and upgraded sound system.

The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze?s base engine is a 136-horsepower,1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder that delivers 22 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway, according to the EPA. The other trims employ a turbocharged,138-horsepower,1.4-liter,inline 4-cylinder engine that delivers 24 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway in the LT and LTZ trims, and 28/42 in the lightweight Eco trim with manual transmission.

Standard safety features on the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze include anti-lock brakes (front disc and rear drum on the lower trims,4-wheel disc brakes on the LTZ),stability control, front and rear side air bags, side curtain air bags, and driver and front passenger knee air bags. In government crash tests, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the Cruze 5 (out of 5) stars for front- and side-impact protection. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the Cruze highest-possible ?Good? scores in both frontal-offset and side-impact crash tests.

Starting MSRP for the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze was $17,275.
