2011 CADILLAC STS Sedan

General Motors has positioned the Cadillac STS between the CTS and DTS models: a roomy,fast-handling executive car that?s a little more conservative than the Cadillac CTS,a little sportier than the Cadillac DTS. The STS is descended from the Cadillac Seville, and 2011 is expected to be its final year of production (a new Cadillac flagship, the XTS,is due for 2012 and is to replace both the STS and DTS). Interestingly, the STS was the first Cadillac sedan available with all-wheel drive (AWD).

The base V6 Luxury Sport model of the 2011 Cadillac STS features 17-inch wheels, leather upholstery,dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry and ignition,a full menu of power accessories, and an 8-speaker Bose sound system. The mid-line V6 Luxury trim adds real wood accents, upgraded front and rear seats and Bluetooth connectivity, while the top-line V6 Premium trim steps up to 18-inch wheels and adds a limited-slip differential,Xenon headlights, rear spoiler, and several other features. Various option packages are available at all three levels. They include a sunroof, several different performance packages, and extra safety features, including a blind-spot monitor and lane-departure warning system. The trunk provides 13.8 cubic feet of cargo space, according to the manufacturer.

The 2011 Cadillac STS employs a 302-horsepower,3.6-liter V-6 engine that delivers an EPA-estimated 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The V-8 engine offered as an option in previous years is unavailable for 2011. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with AWD available on the upper trims.

Standard safety features on the 2011 Cadillac STS include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, stability control, front side air bags, and side curtain air bags. Other safety features are included in the Premium Luxury option package.

Starting MSRPs for the 2011 STS ranged from $47,280 to $56,380.
