The Volkswagen Tiguan is a 5-seat,4-door compact crossover wagon. For 2010,the Tiguan comes in a new specially badged trim,the Wolfsburg Edition.

Four trim levels are available for the 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan. The entry-level Tiguan S trim includes 16-inch wheels,air conditioning,cruise control,keyless entry,some power accessories,and an 8-speaker sound system. The Tiguan SE offers more power accessories,an upgraded stereo,and 17 inch wheels. The Tiguan Wolfsburg Edition is the SE trim with special badging,wheels,and upholstery. The top-level Tiguan SEL steps up to leather upholstery (optional with the SE),automatic wipers,automatic bi-Xenon headlights,automatic dual-zone climate control,and a premium sound system. Stand-alone options include a hard-drive-based navigation system and a panoramic sunroof. The Tiguan offers 16.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the seats; maximum cargo space is 56.1 cubic feet,according to Volkswagen.

All 2010 Volkswagen Tiguans feature front-wheel drive (FWD) as standard equipment. All-wheel drive (AWD) is available on the Tiguan SE and SEL trims. The S and Wolfsburg Edition Tiguans employ a 6-speed manual transmission as standard,or a 6-speed automatic as an option. The Tiguan SE and SEL feature the automatic transmission as standard. The Tiguan?s power plant is a 200-horsepower,2.0-liter,inline 4-cylinder engine that produces 206 lb.-ft. of torque and delivers 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway with FWD or AWD and an automatic transmission,according to the EPA. With manual transmission,it delivers 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

The 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan?s standard safety features include anti-lock disc brakes,stability control,traction control,front side air bags,side curtain air bags,and optional rear side air bags. In government crash tests,the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the Tiguan 5 (out of 5) stars in front- and side-impact tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the Tiguan the highest-possible ?Good? overall ratings on all impact tests.
