The Volkswagen CC is a sedan that shares a platform with the Volkswagen Passat but adds style,power,and luxury features. It?s available with a 4- or 6-cylinder engine,and for 2010,Volkswagen has introduced a new,dual-clutch automated manual transmission as an option on the 4-cylinder models.
The 2010 Volkswagen CC is offered in four trim levels. The entry-level CC Sport trim features 17-inch alloy wheels,leatherette upholstery,heated front seats,automatic climate control,automatic headlights,fog lights,power accessories,Bluetooth connectivity,and an 8-speaker sound system. The CC Luxury trim steps up to leather upholstery,dual-zone automatic climate control,a sunroof,and front and rear park assist. The CC VR6 Sport includes the Luxury trim and adds a larger engine,18-inch wheels,upgraded headlights and sound system,and a power rear sunshade. The CC VR6 4Motion is the all-wheel-drive version of the VR6 Sport. A Technology option package includes a hard-drive-based navigation system and a rearview camera.
Standard power plant for the 2010 Volkswagen CC?s Sport and Luxury trims is a 200-horsepower,2.0-liter,turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that delivers 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway,according to the EPA. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard on the CC Sport trim. A ?DSG? automated manual transmission is standard on the CC Luxury trim and optional on the Sport. The CC VR6 model features a 280-horsepower,3.6-liter V-6 engine that delivers 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway,or 17/25 with the CC VR6 4Motion. The V-6 engine works with a conventional 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shifters.
Standard safety features on the 2010 Volkswagen CC include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist,stability control,traction control,active front side air bags,and side curtain air bags. In government crash tests,the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the CC 4 (out of 5) stars for front-impact protection,5 stars for front-passenger side protection,and 4 stars for rear-passenger side protection.
