The Suzuki Grand Vitara compact SUV has been offered under several names since its introduction for the 1999 model year. The 2010 model is a carryover from the previous year,but a navigation system is now standard equipment.

The base 2010 Suzuki Grand Vitara features 16-inch wheels,automatic headlights,automatic climate control,cruise control,keyless entry,and a 4-speaker sound system. The Grand Vitara Premium,Premium Special Edition,and XSport trims add various features,which are combined in the top-level Limited trim. The Grand Vitara Limited features 17-inch alloy wheels,leather upholstery,sunroof,keyless ignition,upgraded navigation and sound systems,and many other enhancements. Both the Grand Vitara XSport and Limited are eligible for a V-6 engine,which comes with 17-inch wheels on the XSport and 18-inch wheels on the Limited. With the rear seats folded down,the 2010 Suzuki Grand Vitara features 69 cubic feet of cargo space,according to the manufacturer.

The base power plant in the 2010 Suzuki Grand Vitara is a 166-horsepower,2.4-liter,inline 4-cylinder engine that delivers 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway with a 4-speed automatic transmission (which is standard with that engine on all but the base model). Optional on the Grand Vitara XSport and Limited trims is a 230-horsepower,3.2-liter V-6 engine that delivers 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway with 2-wheel drive. Four-wheel drive is optional on all 2010 Suzuki Grand Vitara trims except the base.

Standard safety features on the 2010 Suzuki Grand Vitara include anti-lock disc brakes,stability control,traction control,front side air bags,and side curtain air bags. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the 2010 Suzuki Grand Vitara its highest-possible ?Good? rating for frontal-offset crash protection,and ?Acceptable? for side-impact protection.
