The Nissan Sentra is a compact,popularly priced front-wheel-drive sedan that competes with the Honda Civic,Mazda 3,Toyota Corolla and the Volkswagen Jetta,among others. A refreshed exterior highlights the 2010 Nissan Sentra: it features new headlights and taillights,with a new front fascia and grille for some trim levels.

Six trim levels are available on the 2010 Nissan Sentra. The base Sentra 2.0 trim features 15-inch steel wheels,air conditioning,4-speaker sound system,and power windows and locks. Higher trims?2.0 S,2.0 SR,2.0 SL,SE-R,and SE-R Spec V?add various upgrades. The top-of-the-line SE-R Spec V trim features 17-inch alloy wheels with high-performance tires,high-performance suspension,limited-slip front differential,and sport seats as standard equipment. Options include a sunroof,premium sound system,navigation package,and more. The Sentra?s trunk features 13.1 cubic feet of cargo space,according to Nissan.

Two engines are available with the 2010 Nissan Sentra. Sentra 2.0 models feature a 140-horsepower,2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with a 6-speed manual transmission on the base 2.0 model and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) on the other 2.0 trims. The EPA estimates that the engine will deliver 26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway with the CVT. The Sentra SE-R features a 177-horsepower,2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and CVT; the SE-R Spec V?s 200-horsepower,2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine works with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Standard safety features on the 2010 Nissan Sentra include front side air bags and side curtain air bags,seat belt pre-tensioners,and stability control. Anti-lock brakes are standard on all 2010 Sentra trims but the base,where they?re optional. Rear drum brakes are standard on most models,but 4-wheel disc brakes are standard on Sentra SE-R and Spec V trims. In government crash tests,the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the Sentra 5 out of 5 stars for front-seat protection and 4 stars for rear-seat side-impact protection. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the Sentra the highest-possible ?Good? ratings in its front- and side-impact crash tests.
