The Lincoln MKZ is an entry-level,midsize luxury sedan,an upscale cousin to the Ford Fusion,with which it shares a platform. Originally known as the Lincoln Zephyr,the model was renamed for the 2007 model year,and received an extensive update for 2010. Fuel efficiency has been improved,and both standard and optional features have been added.
The 2010 Lincoln MKZ?s standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels,remote keyless entry,leather upholstery,heated and cooled power front seats,fog lights,dual-zone automatic climate control,and an 11-speaker sound system that?s coupled with the Sync multimedia entertainment/communications system. A sunroof,various safety features,and an upgraded sound system are optional. A Sport Appearance package of options includes 18-inch alloy wheels,sport-tuned suspension,and upgrades to the upholstery,interior trim,and grille. The trunk offers 16.5 cubic feet of cargo space.
The 2010 Lincoln MKZ is powered by a 263-horsepower,3.5-liter V-6 engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission that features SelectShift technology. Front-wheel drive is standard,and all-wheel drive is available. According to EPA estimates,the 2010 Lincoln MKZ delivers 18 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway with front-wheel drive,and 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway with all-wheel drive.
Standard safety features on the 2010 Lincoln MKZ include anti-lock brakes,electronic stability control and traction control,rear parking sensors,front side air bags,and side curtain air bags. A blind-spot warning system and a back-up camera are optional. The 2010 Lincoln MKZ received ?Good? ratings in front-,side-,and rear-impact crash tests from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS),and five stars (out of five) for driver and front passenger frontal-impact protection from the NHTSA.
