The Chevrolet Traverse,a large to midsize crossover SUV,made its d?but in the 2009 model year and is largely unchanged for 2010. It shares a platform with the Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia. The Traverse can seat seven or eight passengers,can tow up to 5,200 lbs.,and offers a maximum of about 166 cu. ft. of cargo space.

The 2010 Chevrolet Traverse is available in four trim levels: LS (base),1LT,2LT,and LTZ models. LS trim includes 17-inch wheels,seating for eight,split-folding bench seats in the second and third rows,full power accessories,a six-speaker sound system,and air conditioning. The 1LT trim has 18-inch wheels,trip computer,heated side mirrors,upgraded seats,and rear parking sensors. The 2LT trim adds tri-zone automatic climate control,plus an upgraded Bose sound system and a power liftgate. The 2LT also features captain?s chairs in the second row,reducing seating capacity to seven.

Twenty-inch wheels and leather upholstery are featured on the LTZ trim,along with heated and ventilated power front seats,remote start,and Bluetooth capability. Many other options are available as stand-alone options or via option packages,at most trim levels. These include a towing package,a navigation system,dual sunroofs,and a rear-seat entertainment system.

The sole power plant for the 2010 Chevrolet Traverse is a 281-hp,3.6-liter V6 engine. (In the LTZ trim,it produces 288 hp.) The transmission is a six-speed automatic,and two- or four-wheel drive is available. The EPA estimates that the two-wheel-drive Traverse delivers 17 mpg in the city,24 mpg on the highway,and 19 mpg combined. Safety features include anti-lock brakes,traction control,antiskid system,curtain-side airbags for all three rows,and front-side airbags.
