The Chevrolet Malibu has a long history as a premium family sedan. It began,in the mid-1960s,as a trim level option on the Chevelle model. In 1978,it replaced the Chevelle. Now in its seventh generation, the Malibu receives a few minor equipment changes in 2010. A six-speed automatic transmission is now standard on all but the base model, and all trim levels now have driver-side power-adjustable lumbar support as standard. Two-tone interiors are available on all trim levels
