2009 Acura RDX SUV
The Acura RDX is Acura?s first compact crossover SUV,introduced as a 2007 model in late 2006. The RDX has taken over in the lineup as Acura?s entry-level crossover SUV that was previously held by the MDX,which has become larger in size and more fully featured) the position of. The 2009 adds front-wheel drive and several changes in the car?s appearance.
Standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels,moonroof,power tilt/telescoping steering column,Bluetooth phone connectivity,dual zone automatic climate control,and leather upholstery. Front seats are heated and powered,and the driver?s seat has a memory function. The standard audio system features seven speakers,a six-disc CD/MP3 changer,satellite radio,steering wheel-mounted controls,and an auxiliary jack. The optional Technology Package includes a navigation system with real-time traffic,a rear-view camera,solar-sensing and GPS-linking climate control system,and an upgraded sound system (largely driven by voice command) that includes 10-speaker Panasonic ELS premium surround-sound.
A four-cylinder,2.3-liter turbocharged engine powers the 2009 RDX. According to the automaker,the variable flow turbocharger reduces turbo lag,with increased exhaust flow at higher speeds. The engine is rated at 240 hp at 6,000 rpm with a torque peak of 260 lb.-ft. at 4,500 rpm. It also has a top-mounted intercooler. A five-speed automatic transmission is standard,including Acura SportShift sequential manual shift capability.
EPA-estimated gas mileage is 17 mpg city,22 mpg highway,and 19 mpg combined,although fuel consumption can vary considerably based on terrain and driving style. In government crash tests,the 2009 Acura RDX earned five stars in both frontal and side-impact tests. It earned a ?Good? score from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in frontal offset and side-impact crashes. Standard safety features include front-seat side airbags,side curtain airbags with rollover sensor,active front head restraints,antilock brakes (with brake assist),stability control,and traction control.
