2009 Acura MDX SUV
The Acura MDX is a midsize crossover SUV that has been in production since the 2001 model year. Upon its introduction,it was the first crossover SUV to offer third-row seating.
Standard features include 18-inch wheels,sunroof,power tilt/telescoping steering column,an eight-speaker sound system,and leather upholstery. The front seats are heated and also include driver lumbar adjustments.
Three trim levels are available: the Technology Package includes items such as apower liftgate,cell phone address book feature,voice-activated navigation system,and 10-speaker Panasonic/ELS surround-sound system. The Sport Package includes all items in the Technology Package plus sport suspension,auto-leveling headlights,as well as upgrades to the wheel design,upholstery,and interior trim The Entertainment Package (which can be ordered with either the Technology Package or the Sport Package) adds heated second-row seating,a 115-volt power outlet,and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system).
For 2009,the seven-seat luxury SUV is little changed from its 2007 redesign. The Acura MDX features a 3.7-liter 300-hp V6 engine,five-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control,all-wheel drive,side/curtain airbags,xenon headlights,tri-zone climate control,and stability and traction controls. A total of 83.5 cubic feet of cargo space is available with the second and third rows folded. Maximum towing capacity is 5,000 lbs.
Gas mileage is estimated at 15 mpg city,20 mpg highway,and 17 mpg combined. In government crash tests,the 2009 Acura MDX earned five stars in both frontal and side-impact tests. It earned a ?Good? score from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in frontal offset and side-impact crashes.
