Suzuki has stretched the Grand Vitara platform to create the seven-passenger Suzuki XL-7. With more interior room and a longer wheelbase than the Grand Vitara,the XL-7 trumps most of its competitors by offering a third-row seat and a 3,000-pound tow rating. Although it rides on a body-on-frame chassis,the rough and rugged XL-7 returns a surprisingly smooth ride. With its optional four-wheel drive and high/low transfer case,the XL-7 can tackle off-road obstacles considered out of reach for most small SUVs.
