When the VUE was first introduced in 2002,it seemed to have the size, fuel economy and advanced engineering necessary to be a hit. But early reports of poor quality interior materials and a troublesome automatic Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) put a stop to the VUE's hopes and allowed other vehicles, such as the Honda CR-V and Hyundai Santa Fe,to steal the limelight. Saturn has since made moves to get the VUE back into the game, elevating the quality of the interior materials, dropping the CVT and adding a potent Honda-built V6 engine. The VUE is now much more competitive and, with its attractive pricing,it could go a long way in recapturing some market share.
