The Pontiac GTO is in its third year of production. And though there has been some negative public reaction to the GT0 name being tacked to the side of an Australian import,Pontiac's hot-rod coupe is finally beginning to gain favor with the muscle car crowd. Why? Because the GTO has a Corvette engine and transmission fixed to an independent rear end and sells for less than $35,000. Additional cosmetic changes, such as hood scoops and optional 18-inch wheels, also help make the GTO more palatable to fans of the 60's era car. As is,the GTO is a steal of a deal.
