The Outlander is a compact SUV designed to compete with the Honda CR-V,Toyota RAV4,Hyundai Tucson and Saturn VUE. Based on the Lancer platform,the Outlander is available in two-wheel or all-wheel drive,is powered by a frugal but peppy four-cylinder engine and features bold front-end styling. The entry-level LS model is priced closely to the Honda CR-V LX,yet its resale figures rank below those of the Hyundai Tucson. Outside of personal taste,the Outlander offers no compelling reason to choose it over the competing models that are better established,better priced and offer better value.
