Editor's notes:The LS sedan is Lincoln's answer to the Cadillac CTS and STS,the Lexus ES 330,The BMW 5 Series and the Audi A6. However, the LS has been around for some time and Lincoln has allowed a once world-class premium sport sedan to be eclipsed by nearly every other car in its segment. Compare the LS to the Chrysler 300C,for example, and you'll be hard-pressed to justify the extra expense of owning a Lincoln luxury car. The 300C offers significantly more horsepower, nearly matches the LS in content and has a far higher head-turning quotient. The LS just doesn't stand out from the crowd in the way it once did,a paramount quality for a premium sedan. It remains a fine car with noteworthy driving characteristics and solid build quality, but it's been surpassed by much of the newer competition,in style and performance.
