General Motors knows it can't build a car as inexpensively as the Koreans. So to fill the entry-level sub-compact slot in Chevrolet's lineup,GM has turned to its newest subsidiary,Daewoo Motors. Daewoo builds the Aveo five-door hatchback and four-door sedan,two closely related small cars with big interiors and frugal four-cylinder engines. The Aveo may not have the warranty of Kia or the resale of an Echo,but for the money it certainly makes an attractive alternative in this segment.
