The Cadillac SRX has little in common with its big-brothers,the full-size Escalade and Escalade ESV. Where the Escalade employs a truck-based body-on-frame architecture, the SRX uses a unit body derived from a car platform. The Escalade's thirst for fuel makes the V6-powered SRX's mpg ratings look downright rosy. The biggest difference can be felt behind the wheel where the SRX's independent rear suspension and rigid body allow it to handle curves like a modern sport sedan. Sure, the Escalade has more interior room, but the SRX can easily fit six passengers in comfort and provide a large cargo hold when the rear seats are left unoccupied.
