Exterior FeaturesThe 2013 Volvo XC60 is sold in three model series (3.2, T6 AWD, and R-Design), with a choice of four trim levels (base, Premier, Premier Plus, Platinum). All models have heated side mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, front and rear skid plates, and aluminum wheels. Both the T6 AWD and R-Design models include rear privacy glass and a panoramic sunroof, while R-Design models have active bi-xenon headlights.
Interior FeaturesThe XC60 3.2 model includes dual-zone automatic climate control, power driver's seat, Bluetooth hands-free calling and music streaming, Volvo Sensus infotainment system, and satellite radio. Additionally, the T6 AWD model includes leather, power front-passenger seat, and Keyless Drive.
Premier trim adds T6 extras to the 3.2 model, while Premier Plus trim provides a Homelink remote, park-assist sensors, active bi-xenon headlights, and more. Platinum models include navigation, a reversing camera, and a premium sound system.
Optional FeaturesA Climate package adds heated front and rear seats. Additional options include a power tailgate, rear-seat entertainment system, wood interior trim, upgraded wheels, and more.
Under the HoodA 3.2-liter, inline 6-cylinder engine creating 240 horsepower powers the XC60 3.2's front wheels (FWD). All-wheel drive (AWD) is optional. The T6 AWD features a 3.0-liter, turbocharged, inline 6-cylinder engine generating 300 horsepower. The R-Design offers 325 horsepower. All three engines are matched to a 6-speed automatic transmission, which includes Sport shift programming for T6 models.
Fuel EconomyEPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Volvo XC60 are:
- XC60 3.2 FWD: 19/25/21 mpg (city/highway/combined)
- XC60 3.2 AWD: 18/24/20 mpg
- XC60 T6 and R-Design AWD: 17/23/20 mpg
SafetyOn all XC60 models, Volvo installs 6 air bags, traction and stability control, and 4-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes with brake assist, Ready Alert Brakes, and Fading Brake Support. Every XC60 is also equipped with City Safety, a low-speed pedestrian and object detection system with full Auto Brake capability. Options include active bi-xenon headlights, reversing camera, park-assist sensors, blind-spot monitoring system, and an integrated booster child seat system. A Technology package adds numerous safety features. Highlights include adaptive cruise control with Collision and Pedestrian Warning, Driver Alert Control, Active High Beam headlights, and lane-departure warning.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gives the 2013 XC60 a 5- (out of 5) star overall crash-test rating.
