Exterior Features
The 2012 Volvo S80 is a midsize, 4-door luxury sedan available in either front-wheel (FWD) or all-wheel-drive (AWD) models, which are further offered in two trim levels. The base model S80 3.2 comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels.
Interior Features
The Volvo S80 seats 5 passengers and provides 14.9 cubic feet of trunk space. Base 3.2 models offer leather upholstery, walnut wood dash inlay, and power features that include windows, mirrors, door locks, and driver seat. Premier Plus trim models offer keyless entry and ignition, integrated garage door opener, and Volvo's Personal Car Communicator. The Platinum trim adds a voice-controlled navigation system and premium surround-sound system.
Optional Features
While moving up in trim line adds many of the available options to the S80, Volvo also groups options together in four packages. Exclusive to the S80 T6 AWD trim is the Dynamic package, which includes a lowered sport-tuned suspension and 18-inch wheels. The top-tier Inscription package adds premium leather seating and leather-wrapped dashboard, while the Technology package outfits the S80 with such safety features as collision warning and pedestrian detection with auto braking. Stand-alone options include a blind-spot monitoring system and active bi-Xenon headlights.
Under the Hood
Base Volvo S80 models are fitted with a 3.2-liter, inline 6-cylinder engine rated at 240 horsepower. The S80 T6 AWD is equipped with a turbocharged, 3.0-liter, inline 6-cylinder engine rated at 300 horsepower. All models utilize a 6-speed automatic transmission.
