Overview

A luxury cabriolet with a power retractable hardtop, the Volvo C70 seats 4, and employs front-wheel drive. Its overall build is similar to that of the Volvo S40. The 2010 model is a carryover from the previous model year with only a few minor changes. Its main competitors include the BMW 3 Series, Volkswagen Eos, and Lexus IS C.

The 2010 Volvo C70 is available in one trim level, with several option packages. Standard equipment includes 17-inch wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, power accessories (including power front seats), fog lights, Bluetooth connectivity, and an 8-speaker sound system. The four main option packages are Premium, Climate, Dynamic, and Multimedia. The Premium package steps up to leather upholstery; the Climate package heats the front seats and adds a proprietary air quality system. The Dynamic package adds 18-inch wheels, bi-Xenon headlights, and other upgrades. The Multimedia package upgrades the sound system and adds a hard-drive-based navigation system. Many other options are available as stand-alones. With the hardtop up, the trunk provides 12.8 cubic feet of cargo space.

The 2010 Volvo C70's standard power plant is a turbocharged, 227-horsepower, 2.5-liter, inline 5-cylinder engine with a 6-speed manual transmission. A 5-speed automatic transmission is optional. According to the EPA, the C30 delivers 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway with automatic transmission, and 20 mpg in the city with the manual.

The 2010 Volvo C70's safety features include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, front head restraints, stability control, traction control, rollover protection, front side air bags, and side curtain air bags. A blind-spot-alert system is optional. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the C70 highest-possible "Good" ratings across the board in frontal-offset, rear-impact, and side-impact crash tests.

Starting MSRP for the 2010 Volvo C70 was $40,000.
