Exterior Features
The 2013 Volvo C30 is a 2-door, 4-passenger hatchback offered in T5 or T5 R-Design model series with base, Premier, Premier Plus, or Platinum trim packages. The C30 rides on standard 17-inch alloy wheels and holds 12.9 cubic feet of cargo with the rear seats in use, or 20.2 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

Interior Features
The standard C30 T5 includes air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, remote keyless entry, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, trip computer, and an audio system with 8 speakers, USB/iPod connectivity, auxiliary input jack, HD radio, and Bluetooth connectivity with audio streaming.

The T5 R-Design adds a sport suspension, fog lights, matte silver body-color trim, larger exhaust outlets, rear spoiler, aluminum cabin trim, Flex-Tec and leather seats, and R-Design d_cor.

Optional Features
The Premier trim package features a power sunroof, power driver's seat, aluminum dashboard trim, and a cargo cover. The Premier Plus trim package provides a power front-passenger seat, LED running lights, active bi-xenon headlights, and keyless entry and ignition. The top-of-the-line Platinum trim package includes a 650-watt premium audio system and a navigation system with real-time traffic information.

This year, the optional Climate package includes heated front seats and automatic climate control. Optional is a blind-spot monitoring system with retractable side mirrors, along with leather seats and satellite radio.

Under the Hood
Every Volvo C30 is equipped with a turbocharged, 227-horsepower, 2.5-liter, inline 5-cylinder engine that delivers 236 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,500 rpm. Power is fed to the front wheels through a standard 6-speed manual gearbox transmission or an optional 5-speed automatic transmission. For 2013, service intervals are extended to 10,000 miles with the use of synthetic motor oil.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Volvo C30 are:

• C30 with manual transmission: 21/29/24 mpg (city/highway/combined)
• C30 with automatic transmission: 21/30/24 mpg

Safety
The 2013 Volvo C30 is equipped with 6 air bags, 4-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, and a traction and stability control system. Also available is active bi-xenon headlights. Optional is a blind-spot monitoring system.
