Introduction
The 2015 Volkswagen CC is a 4-door sedan with a swept, coupe-style roofline. It is based on the previous-generation Passat platform and shares its interior design themes with that model. Competitors include the Buick Regal, Ford Fusion, Kia Optima, Mazda 6, and Nissan Maxima.

Models and Features
When buying a Volkswagen CC, the first decision shoppers need to make relates to the vehicle's powertrain, choosing between a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine or a V-6 engine paired with the automaker's 4Motion all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The turbocharged 2.0T model series is available in Sport, Executive, and R-Line trim levels, while the V6 4Motion version of the car is equipped with standard Executive trim.

The R-Line model is based on the CC 2.0T Sport, adding unique wheels, sport-tuned suspension, and revised exterior styling details. Choose the 2.0T Executive to swap the CC's standard leatherette upholstery for genuine leather, and to obtain a hands-free opening trunk, power sunroof, premium infotainment system with navigation, and keyless access with push-button engine starting.

To this, the V6 Executive 4Motion model is equipped with a more powerful V-6 engine, 4Motion AWD, front and rear park-assist sensors, premium sound system, and front seats featuring active ventilation and a massage function for the driver.

Under the Hood
The CC 2.0T is equipped with a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine generating 200 horsepower and 207 lb.-ft. of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard for the Sport and R-Line trim levels, with a 6-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) automated manual transmission optional. The DSG is standard for the 2.0T Executive model.

A 280-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine is included in the CC V6 4Motion model, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and AWD.

Fuel Economy
With the standard manual gearbox, the CC 2.0T returns 21 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. Choose the optional DSG and those numbers are 22 mpg city/31 mpg highway. The CC V6 4Motion is rated to get 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.

Safety and Technology
Standard adaptive headlights help the CC's driver to see around corners after dark, and every version of the car comes with a reversing camera and Volkswagen's Car-Net services technology, which is free for an initial trial period but requires a paid subscription thereafter.

Car-Net supplies automatic crash-response service, which automatically speeds rescuers to the scene of the accident whenever the CC's air bags deploy. The system also makes it easy to quickly summon help with the touch of a button, and parents with teenaged drivers in the household will appreciate speed and boundary text-message alerts via Car-Net's Family Guardian service. You can even use Car-Net to remember where you last parked the vehicle.

If front and rear park-assist sensors, ventilated front seats with an active massage feature, or a 600-watt premium audio system with 10 speakers are desired, buyers will need to get the CC V6 Executive 4Motion model.
