The Volkswagen CC is a sedan that shares a platform with the Volkswagen Passat but adds style, power, and luxury features. It's available with a 4- or 6-cylinder engine, and for 2010, Volkswagen has introduced a new, dual-clutch automated manual transmission as an option on the 4-cylinder models.
The 2010 Volkswagen CC is offered in four trim levels. The entry-level CC Sport trim features 17-inch alloy wheels, leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, automatic climate control, automatic headlights, fog lights, power accessories, Bluetooth connectivity, and an 8-speaker sound system. The CC Luxury trim steps up to leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, a sunroof, and front and rear park assist. The CC VR6 Sport includes the Luxury trim and adds a larger engine, 18-inch wheels, upgraded headlights and sound system, and a power rear sunshade. The CC VR6 4Motion is the all-wheel-drive version of the VR6 Sport. A Technology option package includes a hard-drive-based navigation system and a rearview camera.
Standard power plant for the 2010 Volkswagen CC's Sport and Luxury trims is a 200-horsepower, 2.0-liter, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that delivers 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, according to the EPA. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard on the CC Sport trim. A "DSG" automated manual transmission is standard on the CC Luxury trim and optional on the Sport. The CC VR6 model features a 280-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine that delivers 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, or 17/25 with the CC VR6 4Motion. The V-6 engine works with a conventional 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shifters.
Standard safety features on the 2010 Volkswagen CC include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, stability control, traction control, active front side air bags, and side curtain air bags. In government crash tests, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the CC 4 (out of 5) stars for front-impact protection, 5 stars for front-passenger side protection, and 4 stars for rear-passenger side protection. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the CC the highest-possible "Good" ratings in frontal-offset, rear-, and side-impact tests.
Starting MSRP for the 2010 Volkswagen CC was $27,550.
