Overview
What's New for 2013:
- Tundra Platinum trim level debuts with heated and ventilated front seats, perforated leather upholstery, navigation system, power sunroof, simulated wood interior trim, and more
- TRD Rock Warrior package now available on Tundra Limited
- Chrome package now offered with three different wheel choices
Exterior FeaturesThe 2013 Toyota Tundra is a full-size pickup offered in regular-, extended- (Double Cab), and crew-cab (CrewMax) body styles with a choice of 3 cargo bed lengths, 3 wheelbase lengths, 3 engines, and 3 trim levels combined with rear- or 4-wheel drive (2WD or 4WD).
The standard Tundra rides on 18-inch steel wheels, and offers power heated exterior mirrors, windshield wiper de-icer grid, tailgate assist feature, mudguards, chrome bumpers, and a cargo bed light. Tundra CrewMax models are equipped with a power vertical sliding rear window and dark-tinted rear privacy glass.
Interior FeaturesDual-zone manual air conditioning, cloth seats, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, power windows, power door locks, remote keyless entry, and a stereo with a CD player and an auxiliary audio input jack are standard features for the Tundra regular cab model. The Tundra Double Cab and CrewMax models add standard cruise control, front map lights, and carpeting on the cab floor. The CrewMax model's rear seat slides up to 10 inches fore and aft for greater convenience.
Optional FeaturesThe standard Tundra models can be optioned with a Work Truck package, designed for buyers who want the basics because the pickup will be used for work. The Work Truck package includes vinyl seats, heavy-duty all-weather flooring, manually operated windows and side mirrors, and matte black exterior trim. It also drops the Tundra's base price accordingly.
The standard Tundra model can also be upgraded with numerous option packages. A wide variety of Sport Appearance, Convenience, Upgrade, and SR5 packages are available, depending on cab style, and a new Chrome Appearance package adds chrome trim and a choice of three different wheel designs.
Toyota also provides several TRD (Toyota Racing Development) package upgrades, including a TRD Rock Warrior package installing unique 17-inch forged aluminum wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, performance shocks, skid plate under the gas tank, and more.
Choose the Toyota Tundra Limited, available with Double Cab and CrewMax cab styles, and the truck is equipped with a billet-style grille, leather seats, heated front seats, 10-way power driver seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth calling and music streaming, and a JBL sound system with satellite radio and a USB port. The Limited trim also gets 18-inch aluminum wheels, power-folding mirrors with integrated turn signal repeaters, reversing camera, front and rear park-assist sensors, and tie-down cleats in the cargo bed.
Options for the Limited trim include 20-inch aluminum wheels, power sunroof, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, rear-seat entertainment system, and a Display Audio touch-screen radio and navigation system with Entune. This year, the TRD Rock Warrior package is newly optional for the Limited trim.
For 2013, the Tundra is offered in a new Platinum trim level. This version is equipped with perforated leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, memory for the driver's seat settings, woodgrain trim, power sunroof, Display Audio with navigation, and 20-inch aluminum wheels.
Under the HoodThe standard engine for the Tundra regular cab and Double Cab models with 2WD is a 4.0-liter V-6 that generates 270 horsepower and 278 lb.-ft. of torque. A 5-speed automatic transmission is standard with the V-6 engine.
Standard on all Tundras with 4WD and on the Tundra CrewMax model, a 4.6-liter V-8 engine delivers 310 horsepower and 327 lb.-ft. of torque and is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
A 5.7-liter V-8 is optional on all Tundra models, which generates 381 horsepower and 401 lb.-ft. of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard with this engine.
The Tundra's maximum payload capacity is 2,090 pounds and can tow up to 10,400 pounds. Toyota includes complimentary maintenance for all Tundra models, covering scheduled services during the first 2 years or 25,000 miles of ownership.
