Exterior FeaturesToyota sells the 2013 Sienna in standard, LE, SE, XLE, and Limited trim grades. All are equipped with aluminum wheels, auto-off headlights, power side mirrors, and a wiper de-icer grid. Buyers upgrading to the popular LE trim get heated side mirrors, dark-tinted rear privacy glass, and power-sliding side doors. The SE trim adds sportier styling cues, while the XLE and Limited include unique design details and upgrades.
Interior FeaturesTriple-zone air conditioning, height-adjustable driver's seat, power windows, power door locks, cruise control, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and a stereo with satellite radio and an auxiliary audio input jack are standard on the 2013 Sienna. The Sienna offers 39.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seat. Maximum capacity measures 150 cubic feet.
Optional FeaturesDepending on the trim level, the Sienna is available with triple-zone automatic climate control, leather, JBL premium sound, navigation, Bluetooth connectivity with streaming audio capability, Entune smartphone pairing, dual-view rear-seat entertainment system, Smart Key entry and push-button starting, power sunroof, and more.
Under the HoodFor 2013, Toyota drops the 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine that came standard on the base and LE versions of the Sienna, making standard a 266-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 driving the front wheels through a 6-speed Sequential Shift automatic transmission. The 2013 Sienna is the only minivan available with an optional all-wheel-drive system.
Fuel EconomyEPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Toyota Sienna are:
- Sienna: 18/25/21 mpg (city/highway/combined)
- Sienna AWD: 16/23/19 mpg
SafetyEvery 2013 Sienna is equipped with 7 air bags, including a knee air bag for the driver. Additionally, the minivan has 4-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes with brake assist, traction and stability control, and a Smart Stop system designed to prevent the vehicle from accelerating when the brake pedal is depressed.
Additional safety-related features, standard or available depending on trim level, include a reversing camera, front and rear park-assist sensors, rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring system, and a dynamic cruise control system with pre-collision readiness. The Sienna can also be equipped with Safety Connect service, including an SOS Emergency button and Automatic Crash Notification.
Complete crash-test ratings for the 2013 Sienna are not available as this overview is written. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) rates the van only for side-impact protection (5 stars, the highest rating) and rollover resistance (4 stars out of 5 stars). The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has not evaluated the 2013 Sienna, but the identical 2012 model was named a "Top Safety Pick."
