What's New for 2012:
- Revised and upgraded sound system
- Exterior styling changes
The 2012 Toyota RAV4 is a front-wheel or all-wheel drive (FWD or AWD) SUV, whose size is between a compact and midsize SUV. A spare tire mounted on the rear cargo door, which is covered by a hard shell on Limited trim models, is a distinctive characteristic. The base model features 16-inch wheels. Seventeen-inch wheels come with AWD models. Automatic headlights are standard on the Limited trim and optional on the Sport trim. The Limited features roof rails, and the Sport has a sportier suspension.
Base interior features on the Toyota RAV4 include air conditioning, some power accessories, keyless entry, and a 6-speaker stereo system. The Limited features dual-zone automatic climate control, an upgraded sound system, and other enhancements. With rear seats folded down, the RAV4 offers 73 cubic feet of cargo space.
Many features on the Sport and Limited trims are available in packages for the base trim. Third-row seats are available on all RAV4 trims. The Sport model offers the Sport Appearance package, which eliminates the mounted spare tire and adds run-flat tires instead, as well as a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Premium package is available for the upper trims and adds leather upholstery and an 8-way power driver seat. A Tow package is also available.
