Developed during a joint venture with General Motors, and sold by GM as the Pontiac Vibe, the Toyota Matrix is a compact hatchback sharing its basic platform with the Toyota Corolla. The Matrix is offered in front- and all-wheel-drive trim levels with two different 4-cylinder engines. Now in its second generation (last redesigned for the 2009 model year), all models receive standard traction and stability control for 2010.
