What's New for 2015:

  • Most versions add more standard equipment
  • Most versions gain rear center armrest with cupholders
  • Premium package for LE, LE Eco, and S trim levels

Introduction
The 2015 Toyota Corolla is one of the roomiest small cars you can buy. Offered only as a sedan, the interior features what the automaker claims is more rear-seat legroom than any competitor. That list includes models such as the Chevrolet Cruze, Dodge Dart, Ford Focus, Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra, Kia Forte, Mazda 3, Nissan Sentra, Subaru Impreza, and Volkswagen Jetta.

Models and Features
Toyota offers the 2015 Corolla in L, LE, LE Eco, and S trim levels. The LE, LE Eco, and S are further segmented with Plus and Premium equipment packages, the latter new for 2015.

The Corolla LE adds upgraded interior trim plus automatic climate control with dust and pollen filters, a height-adjustable driver's seat, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, remote keyless entry, and expanded instrumentation with a trip computer and exterior temperature display. A 6.1-in. color touch-screen infotainment system is also included for this version of the car, along with advanced voice-recognition technology and a reversing camera. The LE also includes heated outside mirrors, variable wipers, and larger 16-in. wheels.

The Corolla LE Eco is equipped like the LE, but has a more fuel-efficient powertrain, smaller wheels and tires, and a rear trunk lip spoiler designed to improve aerodynamics for maximum fuel economy.

Both the LE and LE Eco versions of the 2015 Corolla can be upgraded with a Plus equipment package containing fog lights and aluminum wheels, while the new-for-2015 Premium package adds leatherette upholstery, an 8-way power driver's seat, heated front seats, passive keyless entry with push-button engine starting, power sunroof, and a premium audio system with Entune App Suite technology, a navigation system, HD Radio, satellite radio, traffic and weather reports, and more.

The Corolla S is the sporty version, featuring unique styling, turn signal indicators on the side mirror caps, rear spoiler, and unique wheel covers compared with the Corolla LE. Inside, the Corolla S has sport-bolstered seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, and sportier gauges and trim.

Select the Plus equipment package and the Corolla S adds 17-in. aluminum wheels and a roof-mounted spoiler. This version of the car is also the only one available with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Choose it and you receive several features as standard equipment that are drawn from the Corolla S Premium. The Corolla S Premium is outfitted in similar fashion to the Corolla LE Premium.

Under the Hood
All 2015 Corollas except for the LE Eco have a 132-horsepower, 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine. In the Corolla L, buyers choose between a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic transmission. All other versions of the Corolla include a continuously variable transmission (CVT) as standard equipment, except for the S Plus version, which can be purchased with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The Corolla LE Eco is equipped with a unique 140-horsepower, 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine designed to maximize fuel economy. A CVT is standard for all LE Eco versions of the car.

Additionally, all 2015 Corollas come with free scheduled maintenance for the first 2 years or 25,000 miles of ownership.

Fuel Economy
Any 2015 Toyota Corolla with a manual transmission is EPA-rated to get 28 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. Choose the basic Corolla L with the 4-speed automatic and those figures drop to 27 mpg and 36 mpg, respectively. Get a Corolla LE or S with a CVT and you can expect 29 mpg in the city and up to 38 mpg on the highway.

The Corolla LE Eco is the most fuel-efficient version of Toyota's compact car. Depending on the trim package, the numbers range from a low of 30 mpg in the city to a high of 42 mpg on the highway.

Safety and Technology
All 2015 Corollas except for the basic L version are equipped with a standard reversing camera. Other than this, the Corolla offers no additional safety technologies aside from standard equipment, which includes 8 air bags and Smart Stop Technology that is designed to prevent unintended acceleration.

Bluetooth connectivity is standard for all 2015 Corollas, along with a USB 2.0 port. All Corolla trim levels except for the basic L version also have a 6.1-in. color touch-screen infotainment system as standard equipment, one featuring advanced voice-recognition technology. Install the Premium equipment package on any Corolla LE, LE Eco, or S and owners receive Toyota's Entune App Suite technology plus a navigation system, HD Radio, satellite radio, and predictive traffic and weather displays.
