Exterior Features
The 2013 Toyota Camry is a 5-passenger midsize sedan offered in L, LE, SE, and XLE trim levels. A gas-electric hybrid model is also available, and is discussed in a separate article. Standard equipment for the Camry L includes power exterior mirrors and 16-inch steel wheels with plastic wheel covers.

Interior Features
The 2013 Toyota Camry L is equipped with a standard Display Audio system with a 6.1-inch touch screen, Bluetooth connectivity with music streaming capability, USB/iPod connection, and an auxiliary audio input jack. Additionally, the Camry L offers air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, height-adjustable driver seat, center storage console with a sliding armrest, and a basic trip computer.

Optional Features
The 2013 Camry LE is equipped with automatic headlights, power door locks with remote keyless entry, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, outside temperature display, extra 12-volt power outlet, and variable intermittent windshield wipers. Options for the LE trim level include an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat and a power sunroof.

The 2013 Camry SE is the sport-tuned model. It is distinguishable from other Camry models by its body-color exterior trim, darkened headlights, fog lights, mesh grille insert, lower body kit, rear spoiler, chrome exhaust outlet, and standard 17-inch aluminum wheels. The SE model also includes heated exterior mirrors, power driver seat with fabric seats and SofTex leatherette bolsters, silver interior trim, paddle shifters for the transmission, and a sport suspension.

When equipped with a V-6 engine, the Camry SE adds 18-inch aluminum wheels, acoustic glass windshield, and dual exhaust outlets. Inside, the Camry SE V-6 has an 8-way power driver seat, 4-way power passenger seat, Smart Key passive entry with push-button ignition, and a navigation system with Entune smartphone connectivity and telematics service. Entune also includes Bluetooth music streaming capability, HD Radio, satellite radio, and iTunes tagging capability.

Options for the Camry SE model include a blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert, reversing camera, power sunroof, universal garage door opener, auto-dimming rearview mirror with a compass, and a premium sound system. Additionally, the SE 4-cylinder model can be upgraded with an 8-way power driver seat, 4-way front passenger seat, Smart Key passive entry with push-button ignition, and a navigation system with Entune smartphone connectivity. The SE V-6 is exclusively offered with Ultrasuede heated front sport seats.

The 2013 Camry XLE is the luxury-oriented model, equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control system, 8-way power driver seat, 4-way power front passenger seat, simulated wood cabin trim, leather-wrapped steering wheel, power sunroof, and heated exterior mirrors. The Camry XLE V6 adds dual exhaust outlets, acoustic noise-reducing windshield, leather seats, navigation with Entune, reversing camera, Smart Key technology, auto-dimming rearview mirror with a compass, and a universal garage door opener.

Options for the XLE 4-cylinder model include several of the items that come standard on the XLE V-6. Additionally, all Camry XLE models can be upgraded with a premium audio system, blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert, and Safety Connect service. The XLE V-6 model is also offered with a hard-drive navigation system and expanded Entune services.

Under the Hood
A 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine is standard for each Camry trim level, generating 178 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 170 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,100 rpm. A 6-speed automatic transmission drives the Camry's front wheels.

A 3.5-liter V-6 engine is optional for the SE and XLE trim levels, generating 268 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 248 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,700 rpm.

Fuel Economy
As this overview is written, the EPA has not published official fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Camry.

Safety
The 2013 Camry is equipped with 10 air bags, 4-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes with brake assist, traction and stability control, and Toyota's Smart Stop technology that is designed to make it impossible for the car to accelerate with the brake pedal pressed. The Camry's front seats also offer a Whiplash Injury Lessening design.

A reversing camera, blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert, and Safety Connect service are optional. With Safety Connect service, a live operator gets in touch with the car's occupants following an air bag deployment, and can send rescuers directly to the vehicle's location.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gives the 2013 Toyota Camry an overall crash-test rating of 5 stars (out of 5 stars). The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has not rated the 2013 Camry as this overview is written.
