Overview

What's New for 2013:

Exterior Features
The 2013 Suzuki Kizashi is a midsize 5-passenger sedan sold in base, SE, Sport GTS, Sport GTS-L, and Sport SLS trim levels. Standard equipment for the base version of the Kizashi includes power exterior mirrors, projector-beam headlights, chrome dual exhaust outlets, and 17-inch aluminum wheels. The only paint color for the base model is white.

Interior Features
The 2013 Kizashi comes standard with dual-zone automatic climate control, power windows, power door locks with remote keyless entry, SmartKey entry with push-button ignition, LED cabin lighting, trip computer, and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel. Front sport seats with a manual driver seat height adjuster are wrapped in cloth upholstery, and the stereo features 7 speakers, CD player, and a USB port.

Optional Features
The Kizashi SE is equipped with a standard CVT with Hill Hold Control, cruise control, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. This trim level is also offered in a greater variety of colors, and can be equipped with all-wheel drive, upgraded stability control system, heated exterior mirrors, Bluetooth connectivity with music streaming, and a 10-way power driver's seat.

For 2013, two versions of the Sport GTS trim are offered. Both variants include 18-inch aluminum wheels, sport-tuned suspension with a lower ride height, fog lights, and a sportier exterior styling treatment including revised front design, rear spoiler and a body kit. Inside, the Sport GTS provides Bluetooth connectivity with audio streaming, 10-way power driver seat, power sunroof, leather-wrapped sport steering wheel with paddle shifters, and leather trim for the shift knob and emergency brake handle.

Additionally, Sport GTS models with front-wheel drive are referred to as the Sport GTS-L and now come standard with leather upholstery, heated front seats, power front passenger seat, and a premium 425-watt audio system. The Sport GTS AWD does not have these features. Options include a navigation system, reversing camera, and heated exterior mirrors.

The Kizashi Sport SLS is the top-of-the-line trim level, equipped with all of the features on the Sport GTS-L plus all-wheel drive, upgraded stability control, navigation system, reversing camera, heated exterior mirrors, universal garage door opener, auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and rear park-assist sensors.

Under the Hood
Suzuki offers the 2013 Kizashi with a single engine, a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder generating 185 horsepower and 170 lb.-ft. of torque with the standard 6-speed manual gearbox. When equipped with the CVT, the horsepower rating drops to 180. Paddle shifters are standard with the CVT on the Sport GTS and Sport SLS trims, and an optional intelligent AWD system is available on vehicles equipped with the CVT.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Suzuki Kizashi are:

  • Kizashi with manual transmission: 20/29/24 mpg (city/highway/combined)
  • Kizashi with CVT: 23/30/26 mpg
  • Kizashi AWD: 22/29/25 mpg

Safety
Every 2013 Suzuki Kizashi is equipped with 8 air bags, including rear side-impact air bags. Additionally, traction control, stability control, and 4-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes with brake assist are standard. A reversing camera is optional on the Sport GTS and standard on the Sport SLS. The Sport SLS models also include rear park-assist sensors and rain-sensing wipers.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has not performed crash tests on the 2013 Kizashi as this overview is written. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gives the Kizashi a "Good" rating in the moderate overlap frontal-impact test, "Good" rating in the side-impact test, "Acceptable" rating in the roof crush strength test, and a "Good" rating in the rear-impact injury prevention test.
