Overview

The Kizashi, a midsize sport sedan aimed at driving enthusiasts, is the newest member of the Suzuki lineup, having been introduced for the 2010 model year.

The 2011 Suzuki Kizashi is available in four trim levels: S, SE, Sport GTS, and Sport SLS. All trim levels are available with all-wheel drive. Kizashi S models are equipped with premium cloth upholstery; keyless entry and start system with push-button ignition; dual-zone automatic climate control; power windows, mirrors and locks; tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel; steering wheel audio controls; and 16-inch steel wheels. The SE trim adds 18-inch alloy wheels; a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT); 7-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system; USB input; and a 10-way power driver's seat with memory, among other items. The Sport GTS trim adds light-weight alloy wheels; sport-tuned suspension; sunroof; 10-speaker premium audio system; exterior trim kit; and more. Sport SLS models add steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters; Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity; leather seats; a reversing camera with park assist sensors, and more.

All models of the 2011 Suzuki Kizashi are equipped with a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine, mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a performance-tuned continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Manual-equipped Kizashis produce 185 horsepower, while the CVT version produces 180 horsepower. EPA fuel-economy ratings for the 2011 Suzuki Kizashi range between 20 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, depending on the drivetrain.

Standard safety features on the 2011 Suzuki Kizashi include anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist; 8 air bags (dual front, front-seat side-impact, rear-seat side-impact, and side curtain); electronic stability control with traction control; and a tire-pressure monitoring system. An intelligent vehicle stability program (i-VSP) is optional. In rollover tests conducted by the NHTSA, the 2011 Suzuki Kizashi received 4 out of 5 stars. In crash tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the 2011 Suzuki Kizashi received the highest-possible "Good" ratings for both frontal-offset and side-impact crash protection. The Kizashi received an "Acceptable" rating for roof strength.
