Overview

What's New
The Suzuki Forenza, a compact model available as a four-door sedan and a station wagon, debuts a restyled front end, enhanced interior features, and rides on restyled wheels for the 2006 model year.

Overview
The Forenza sedan and wagon were designed in Italy by Pininfarina, an Italian design house that gained fame for styling a long succession of Ferraris. For 2006, the Forenzas get a new and sportier "face." The Forenza's new look also includes freshly redesigned wheels. Although Suzuki is a Japanese automaker, the Forenza is built in South Korea and is comprised of 73 percent Korean components. The major exception to this is its Australian-built engine, a 127-hp, 2.0L four-cylinder powerplant that drives the front wheels through either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.

The interior has been reworked on a car that launched as a 2004 model. Front and side air bags are standard equipment. An optional Premium package includes fog lamps, 15-inch wheels, remote keyless entry, anti-lock brakes, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Like all Suzukis, the Forenza sedan and wagon come with a 7-year/100,000-mile warranty.

The Competition
The Suzuki Forenza competes among 20 models in the Compact Conventional segment, where affordability, fuel economy, sporty performance, and personalization options and accessories can be important factors in the buying decision.

The segment comprises nearly 15 percent of all light-vehicle sales in the U.S., according to the J.D. Power and Associates Sales Report.SM For calendar year 2005, the sales leaders in this segment were the Honda Civic (308,415 units sold), Toyota Corolla (244,032), Chevrolet Cobalt (212,667), and Ford Focus (184,825). Together, they accounted for more than 40 percent of the segment's sales. Suzuki sold 35,319 Forenzas in 2005.
