Exterior Features
The 2013 Scion iQ is offered as a single level of specification. Standard equipment includes a choice between two plastic wheel cover designs, power outside mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators, and a rear window wiper.

Interior Features
Standard on the 2013 Scion iQ are air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, remote keyless entry, tilt steering wheel, trip computer, outside temperature indicator, and a 50/50-split rear seat. The iQ also comes with a Pioneer audio system that includes a USB port, iPod connection, auxiliary audio input jack, and 4 speakers.

Scion says the iQ model will hold 3.5 cubic feet of cargo with the rear seat in use. When the rear seat is folded down, the iQ holds 16.7 cubic feet of cargo, about the same as a midsize sedan.

Optional Features
Scion dealers offer a wide variety of upgrades for the Scion iQ. Appearance items include aluminum wheels, a rear spoiler and fog lights. The interior can be equipped with floor mats, cargo area storage solutions, and ambient lighting. An optional premium Pioneer audio system includes a color LCD touch screen, Bluetooth, HD radio, iTunes tagging capability, and Pandora streaming Internet radio. A rear sway bar and lowering springs by Toyota Racing Development can also be installed.

Under the Hood
The Scion iQ is equipped with a 94-horsepower, 1.3-liter 4-cylinder engine. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) powers the 2,127-pound car's front wheels.

Fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Scion iQ were not available when this overview was written.

Safety
Every 2013 Scion iQ features 6 air bags, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, and a traction and stability control system. Standard Smart Stop technology makes it impossible for the iQ to accelerate if the brake pedal is depressed, Scion says.

In crash tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Scion iQ received an overall rating of 4 (out of 5) stars. However, the NHTSA rated frontal-impact protection and side-impact protection for the front passenger seat at 3 stars. As this overview was written, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) had not performed crash tests on the 2013 Scion iQ.
