There are seven versions of the 2013 Porsche Cayenne on sale, with prices starting at less than $50,000. Standard equipment for the Cayenne includes an independently opening rear window in the power tailgate, water repellent front windows, rain-sensing wipers, heated washer nozzles, and heated power side mirrors. The 2013 Cayenne is also equipped with automatic headlights, LED running lights, LED turn signal lights, LED taillights, and 18-inch aluminum wheels.Interior Features
The 2013 Porsche Cayenne comes standard with partial leather seats, 8-way power front comfort seats, automatic climate control, power windows, power door locks, cruise control, and floor mats. Bluetooth is standard, as well as a stereo with a 7-inch touch screen, CD/MP3 player, auxiliary audio input jack, and a reversing camera display. An analog clock resides in the dashboard, and the Cayenne's glove box is refrigerated.
The Cayenne holds 23.7 cubic feet of cargo behind its rear seat, and 62.9 cubic feet of cargo with the rear seat folded down.Optional Features
Depending on the model selected, a variety of upgrades and options are available for the 2013 Cayenne, starting with numerous paint, exterior trim, interior color, and aluminum wheel designs up to 21 inches in diameter.
Three audio system options are offered: a 235-watt CDR Plus audio system with a USB port and iPod/iPhone connectivity, 585-watt Bose premium sound system, and a 1,000-watt Burmeister high-end surround-sound audio system with 16 speakers. Additionally, the Cayenne can be equipped with satellite radio, HD Radio, full smartphone integration, Online Services with Aha Radio and Facebook access, navigation system, and a Porsche Rear-Seat Entertainment system.
Comfort-related options include 4-zone automatic climate control, sport seats with Alcantara inserts, adaptive sport seats with 18-way power adjustment, heated front seats, heated front and rear seats, and ventilated front seats. A Driver Memory package and a Comfort Memory package can be added to the Cayenne, along with a heated steering wheel and Porsche Entry & Drive keyless access with push-button starting. Porsche also offers child safety seats designed specifically for the Cayenne.
Mechanical upgrades include an air suspension with ride-height control and self-leveling, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDDC), Sport Chrono package for improved performance, Power Steering Plus, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) with yellow-painted brake calipers, and off-road underbody protection skid plates.
Safety options include bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), PDLS Plus system with High-Beam Assistant and Intersection Assistant, front and rear park-assist sensors, and rear-seat side-impact air bags. Porsche also offers adaptive cruise control with Porsche Active Safe, and a Lane Change Assist system.
Additionally, the Cayenne can be optioned with bi-xenon headlights, power sunroof, panoramic glass sunroof, power rear side window sunshades, ski bag, roof rails, and roof transport system. A Towing package is also available.

The standard Cayenne is equipped with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that delivers 300 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 295 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,000 rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox or an 8-speed automatic transmission, and the Cayenne offers automatic stop/start technology with the automatic. An active all-wheel-drive system is standard.
The new-for-2013 Cayenne Diesel model has a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V-6 engine generating 240 horsepower between 3,500 rpm and 4,000 rpm, and 406 lb.-ft. of torque between 1,750 rpm and 2,500 rpm. An 8-speed automatic is standard, as well as a permanent 4-wheel-drive system.
The Cayenne S and new Cayenne GTS are equipped with a 4.8-liter V-8 engine, 8-speed automatic transmission, and active all-wheel drive. In the Cayenne S, this engine generates 400 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 369 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,500 rpm, and is equipped with automatic stop/start technology. In the Cayenne GTS, this engine develops 420 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque, and is not equipped with the fuel-saving automatic stop/start system.
The Cayenne S Hybrid is equipped with a full parallel gas/electric powertrain that pairs a 3.0-liter V-6 engine with an electric assist motor and a nickel-metal hydride battery pack to generate 380 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 428 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,000 rpm. An 8-speed automatic transmission and permanent 4-wheel drive are included on this model, along with electro-hydraulic steering and Power Steering Plus.
A turbocharged, 4.8-liter V-8 engine is installed in the Cayenne Turbo model, and it generates 500 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 516 lb.-ft. of torque between 2,250 rpm and 4,500 rpm. Automatic stop/start technology, an 8-speed automatic transmission, and active all-wheel drive are included on the Cayenne Turbo. In the new Cayenne Turbo S, this engine generates 550 horsepower and 553 lb.-ft. of torque.
Maximum towing capacity for the Cayenne V-6 with a manual gearbox is 5,952 pounds. All other models can tow 7,716 pounds and accommodate a trailer tongue weight of 617 pounds.Fuel Economy

The 2013 Porsche Cayenne is equipped with 6 air bags, traction and stability control system, trailer sway control, automatic hold function on hills, hill-descent control, and 4-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes with brake readiness and brake assist.
Rear-seat side-impact air bags are optional, as well as front and rear park-assist sensors, adaptive cruise control with Porsche Active Safe, Lane Change Assist, and Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus with High-Beam Assistant and Intersection Assistant.
