Overview

Nissan's full-size pickup truck was introduced for the 2004 model year, emphasizing size, power, and capacity. The 2011 model is not much changed from the previous year, but the trim levels have been re-named. The 6-seat Titan is available with rear- or 4-wheel drive (2WD or 4WD).

The 2011 Nissan Titan is available in four trim levels and two cab styles. The King Cab (extended cab) offers a 78-inch cargo bed, and the Crew Cab features a 67-inch or 87-inch bed. The entry-level Titan model is the King Cab S, which includes 18-inch steel wheels, bench seating, air conditioning, 6-speaker sound system, and a lockable tailgate. The Crew Cab S features power windows and locks. An optional Popular Equipment package adds a receiver hitch and other upgrades. The Titan SV, Pro-4X, and SL trims add other features and options. The top-of-the-line model is the 4WD Pro-4X, which features complete power accessories (including an 8-way adjustable driver's seat), automatic headlights, premium mirrors, Bluetooth capability, and many premium performance enhancements. Options include leather upholstery, sunroof, navigation system, 10-speaker sound system, and rear-seat entertainment system.

The standard-and only-powertrain available in the 2011 Nissan Titan is a 317-horsepower, 5.6-liter V-8 engine and a 5-speed automatic transmission that includes a tow-haul mode. The engine produces 385 lb.-ft. of torque. According to the EPA, the 4WD Titan delivers 12 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway. Maximum payload is more than 1 ton on all trims. Properly equipped, the Titan can tow more than 9500 pounds, according to Nissan.

Anti-lock disc brakes, stability control, front side air bags, and side curtain air bags are standard on the 2011 Nissan Titan. Parking assist is standard on the upper trims and available on all but the base trim. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the 2011 Titan highest-possible "Good" ratings for front- and rear-impact protection, and "Marginal" for side-impact protection.
