Exterior Features
The 2013 Nissan Maxima is available in 3.5 S and 3.5 SV trim levels. Standard equipment includes 18-inch aluminum wheels, automatic headlights, LED taillights, and power exterior mirrors.

Interior Features
In addition to a power sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, and Nissan Intelligent Key with push-button ignition, the 2013 Maxima is equipped with power front seats, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, Bluetooth hands-free calling and an 8-speaker stereo with a CD changer and an auxiliary audio input jack.

Optional Features
The Maxima 3.5 SV trim level adds leather, driver's thigh support extension, fog lights, and more. Upgrading to the higher of the two trim levels also allows buyers to purchase several option packages that are exclusive to the SV.

The new Bose Audio package includes satellite radio, which is available on both Maxima trims. A new SV Value package includes the Bose Audio package plus heated seats, heated steering wheel, and heated exterior mirrors. Premium, Sport and Technology packages are also available, equipped with features such as navigation, dual-panel moonroof, ventilated front seats, Bluetooth streaming audio, 19-inch wheels, and more.

Under the Hood
The 2013 Maxima is equipped with a 290-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine driving the front wheels through an Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT). Paddle shifters are included in the Sport package for the Maxima SV trim.

EPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Nissan Maxima are 19/26/22 mpg (city/highway/combined).

Safety
In addition to 6 standard air bags, the 2013 Maxima is equipped with 4-wheel vented-disc anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, traction control system, and a stability control system. A reversing camera is optional.

While the 2013 Maxima receives an overall crash-test rating of 4 stars (out of 5) from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), it is important to point out that the individual score for the front-seat occupant in a frontal collision rated 2 stars. As this overview is written, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has not rated the 2013 Maxima.
