Nissan was ahead of the demand curve for mini-SUVs when it launched the Juke. Now, for 2015, this small crossover gains a number of improvements as the segment adds new models like the Chevrolet Trax and Jeep Renegade. At the same time, the Juke continues to serve as an alternative to compact crossover SUVs such as the Kia Soul, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, and Subaru XV Crosstrek.

Models and Features
Nissan sells the 2015 Juke in S, SV, SL, Nismo, and Nismo RS trim levels. Select the Juke SV for an automatic climate control system, power sunroof, improved interior materials, dark-tinted rear windows, and satellite radio. The Juke SL adds leather seats, heated front seats, navigation system, premium audio system, and a 360-degree surround-view monitoring system with moving-object detection technology.

The Nismo models feature a sport-tuned suspension, unique 18-in. aluminum wheels, and special exterior bodywork and detailing. The Nismo RS is equipped with a more powerful engine, upgraded brakes, reinforced structure, and performance-bolstered front seats.

A range of factory- and dealer-installed accessories can be added to the Juke, including new color-coordinated trim pieces from the Color Studio that help owners to personalize their vehicles.

Under the Hood
A turbocharged, direct-injection, 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine powers the 2015 Nissan Juke. The engine makes 188 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 177 lb.-ft. of torque between 1,600 rpm and 5,200 rpm.

In S, SV, and SL trim levels, a continuously variable transmission (CVT) delivers the power to the front wheels, and a torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive (AWD) system is optional. The Nismo models are equipped with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox, with a CVT available in conjunction with AWD.

In the Nismo RS, the engine is tuned to make more power. With front-wheel drive, output measures 215 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 210 lb.-ft. of torque between 3,600 rpm and 4,800 rpm. With AWD and a CVT, the Nismo RS produces 211 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 184 lb.-ft. of torque between 2,400 rpm and 6,000 rpm.

Fuel Economy
For all 2015 Jukes except the Nismo RS, EPA fuel-economy estimates range from a low of 26 mpg in the city for vehicles with AWD to a high of 34 mpg on the highway for the front-drive Nismo with the 6-speed manual transmission.

The more powerful Nismo RS is expected to return 25 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

Safety and Technology
For 2015, Nissan makes its NissanConnect with Mobile Apps infotainment system standard equipment for all Juke SUVs. With the system, owners may pair a smartphone via Bluetooth, make and receive phone calls, stream music, and access mobile applications such as Facebook and Pandora. The system also has satellite radio, hands-free text-messaging support, USB port, and a reversing camera.

A navigation system is an available upgrade, along with a premium sound system. Nissan also offers a 360-degree surround-view camera system for the Juke, packaged with a moving-object detection system that can identify approaching objects when the Juke is reversing from blind parking spaces or driveways, and warn the driver of the threat.
