The base Outlander ES trim level rides on 16-inch steel wheels with plastic wheel covers, and includes standard power exterior mirrors, auto-off headlights, LED taillights, and a roof rack. All trims are equipped with a 2-piece clamshell-style tailgate.

Interior Features
The 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander ES offers 36.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind its second-row seat, and 72.6 cubic feet with the second-row seat folded. Standard equipment includes air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, remote keyless entry, cruise control, and a fold-flat front passenger seat. A 6-speaker stereo with a CD/MP3 player and an auxiliary audio input jack is included.

Optional Features
Options for the Mitsubishi Outlander ES include fog lights, chrome grille surround, and Bluetooth connectivity, while the Outlander SE and GT are equipped with a third-row seat that increases seating capacity to 7 passengers. The SUV supplies 14.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind its third-row seat.

Additionally, the Outlander SE trim level adds Bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control, heated front seats, and heated exterior mirrors for 2013. Additionally, this version is equipped with sport fabric seats, magnesium alloy shifter paddles for the transmission, upgraded gauges and displays, premium interior trim, and a keyless access and push-button ignition system. The SE trim is visually distinguished by a chrome grille surround, LED turn signal indicators embedded into the exterior mirror housings, fog lights, and machined-finish 18-inch aluminum wheels.

The optional SE Premium package includes a power sunroof, 710-watt Rockford Fosgate Punch premium audio system, satellite radio, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and upgraded interior materials.

The Outlander GT includes soft-touch interior trim, aluminum pedals, and additional chrome trim inside and out. The GT also has a unique set of 18-inch aluminum wheels, rain-sensing wipers, automatic xenon high-intensity discharge headlights, and dual exhaust outlets.

The Outlander GT is available with an optional Touring package that includes the contents of the SE Premium package plus leather upholstery, power driver seat, and a reversing camera.

Under the Hood
The Outlander ES and SE trims are equipped with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that generates 168 horsepower. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is standard, and includes magnesium alloy paddle shifters on the SE trim to give the driver greater control over transmission ratios.

The Outlander GT is equipped with a 3.0-liter V-6 engine that generates 230 horsepower. The Outlander GT has a 6-speed automatic transmission with magnesium alloy paddle shifters. To help conserve fuel, the V-6 is equipped with Idle-Neutral technology that automatically places the Outlander in Neutral gear when the SUV comes to a stop.

All Outlanders have standard front-wheel drive (2WD), but the SE and GT may be equipped with optional all-wheel drive (AWD). The GT's system is called Super All-Wheel Control and includes an active front differential, hill-start assist, and driver-selectable Tarmac, Snow and Lock settings.

The 2013 Outlander GT tows up to 3,500 pounds when equipped with the optional Towing package. The Outlander ES and SE are limited to a 1,500-pound trailer weight.
