What's New for 2014:

  • Minivan carries over from previous year

The Mazda 5 is a minivan--slightly smaller than some of its competitors--that seats 6. The 2014 model is unchanged from the previous year. The Mazda 5 is unique in that it competes with both minivans and compact crossovers, such as the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Ford Escape. It's available in three trim levels--Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring--and in six colors.

Models and Features
Standard interior features of the 2014 Mazda 5 include lightweight sliding doors, 16-in. alloy wheels, halogen headlights, front and rear windshield wiper/washers, power side mirrors with integrated turn signals, keyless entry, cruise control, power windows and locks, automatic climate control, cloth-trimmed seats, 50/50 split folding rear seats, and a 6-speaker sound system. The Touring trim level adds 17-in. alloy wheels, spoiler, side sill extensions, fog lights, Bluetooth connectivity, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and trip computer. The Grand Touring trim level upgrades to automatic on-off xenon headlights, power moonroof, and leather-trimmed seats (heated in front). The second row features captain's chairs that slide and recline, and the passenger-side seat has a folding table with storage net that can be set up for use or taken down for easier access to the third row. The rear cargo area of the Mazda 5 offers 44.4 cu. ft. of space with the rear seats folded down. With second-row seats also folded down, cargo capacity is 97.7 cu. ft.

Options and Packages
Touring trim-level models have an optional Moonroof & Audio package that includes the moonroof and satellite radio. Other options (all but the moonroof available for all trim levels) include premium Crystal White Pearl paint, rear-seat entertainment system, roof rack, rear bumper guard, wheel locks, remote ignition, floor mats, auto-dimming rearview mirror, cargo net, and cargo cover.

An automatic transmission is standard on the other trim levels.
